Epson RX585: Close the scanner unit

Hello,
I'm installing my new RX585 printer today.
When I try to print a document (like Word) or photocopy a document, the sheet is fed in and then I get the error message: Close the Scanner Unit. After that, everything is stuck - I have to turn it off to get it working again!
However, when I try to print a photo from an SD card inserted into the printer, it works: so it's not a print head issue.
I don't understand this message. The lid is indeed closed properly... I've also made sure to remove, normally, all the packaging protections!
I contacted EPSON support, and they asked me to unplug it, wait a few minutes, and try again... Not very effective!!!
