Hello everyone,
I know this post is old, but my response might help others who are likely to encounter this kind of problem. I recently experienced this issue myself, specifically with my DS Lite turning off by itself. I noticed it would shut down when I pressed the direction buttons. So I took my tools and opened it up. I gently lifted the motherboard to access those buttons. I thought I would just need to do a simple cleaning, but I noticed that the soft plastic contacts were cracked. I believe the issue comes from there. These parts wear out over time.
I found a website that sells this kind of part:

There you go, I hope I helped you. Have a great day everyone.

Hello,
I had the same problem with my white DS, one day I was playing with it and all of a sudden it turned off, and after as soon as I turned it on it would shut down immediately and I waited, I waited, fearing that it wouldn't work anymore, I charged it, and it took several days, even 3 weeks to get repaired, and now everything is fine and I just got a magnetic chant^^lol otherwise everything works well lol^^

If you have the old one, it might be like me, I used to have a macro in the power pit above the cross.

Personally, not to bother you, but I would sell my DS and buy a PSP; it's really better, that's what I did.

The PSP does not have a touchscreen and does not have all the applications that come with it...

Is there a magnetic field near you or any devices because it can turn off your DS?

It's not to me that you replied, but I had the same problem and you were right because it's because of my box, thank you.

Hello
for me, there are no magnetic fields or magnets
it's just that whenever I press a bit hard on B, my DS turns off
so I try to be careful, but sometimes in the heat of the game I forget
is there something to change, a small part or something?
thank you in advance

She did that to me not even a week ago.
The screen goes black for a second then comes back.
It did that twice in a row.
I don’t know what it is either.

Salut, j'ai le même problème qu'Aurorette, ma DSi s'éteint toute seule mais c'est une DSi et elle n'en a qu'une, donc c'est quand même abusé. Sauriez-vous quel pourrait être le problème ?

Before insulting poor idiot ;-) read what's written: the console turns off when the battery is charged; so the power light and not "button" is green.

Hello, according to some sites that have tested and repaired the issue, it seems to come from a chip (BIOS) under the buttons that is poorly secured to the motherboard.

After pressing on it repeatedly, it shifts and causes a "micro cut," resulting in random freezing.

To fix the problem, you need to open the DS and secure that particular chip so that it doesn't move at all. (with a thick piece of paper, for example)

++.

Maybe you need to change the battery or, better yet, charge it...
Give it a try!
