Hello,

I just did a search on the forums regarding the independence of two screens and I found NOTHING! All the topics talk about a dual screen with an extended desktop. There was only one person looking for the same thing as me:

How can I have a desktop on each of the screens? The poor guy didn't get any responses ...

Can you help me? Configuration: Windows Vista
Firefox 2.0.0.11

I just took a test.

It is possible to have two independent screens:

One to play videos and the other to browse the internet.

I tested the method with an Nvidia GTX275 graphics card, on Windows.
  • Right-click on the desktop / NVIDIA Control Panel
  • Run the Multiple Displays wizard / Leave all settings at default and restart the computer.
  • In the NVIDIA Control Panel under Set up multiple displays, a new mode appears:
  • Configure Individually "Dual View"
  • After restarting, go back to the NVIDIA Control Panel, change the resolution, then select each screen and assign the desired resolution to it. And that's it.
  • It is possible to drag applications to one of the displays and make it full screen on just one of the displays.

To have a taskbar on the 2nd display, you then need to install UltraMon (not tested)

Hello, is it possible to have both screens in full screen but with 2 different applications?
For example, a game on one and a movie on the other.
Thank you for your response.

Hello,
I'm doing this to stream a match and stay online at the same time, and it's working well:
If you're working on Windows and you want to project using a VGA cable connected between your machine and your screen or projector, I recommend going to "Control Panel"; "Display"; "Connect to a projector" and clicking on "Extend".
Then, normally your computer screen will remain the same, but if you drag any window to the side, it will then appear on the second screen. If you put it in full screen on your second screen, it will also work and won't affect the first one.

You can drag applications to one of the displays or go "full screen" on one display only.

[ * ]: Come on, "not tested":? And what are you waiting for to finish your work, Réno? The end of the world?

[ Kidding, of course! ] Thank you Rémo for this detailed explanation and for your "on the rocks" narration ;-) .
