I also got tricked, I had doubts but I thought "never mind" and sent the SMS for €3 and until now I haven't received any activation code (it's been 3 days).

I should have taken my old 2.0 version out of the closet, I would have had fewer issues and saved €3.

I just sent a text message for three euros to get an activation key to download the new version of "Open Office." I got a key, of course, and after entering it, everything seemed fine as it said, "Open Office was installed successfully." And guess what, everything was installed except Open Office!!! And it was there, despite my doubts about the spelling mistakes on their website and the activation key that only contains letters, that I realized I had just been SCAMMED!
Does anyone know how to download Open Office for free?

I also came across this site! But I wasn't fooled, because OpenOffice is known to be free. What a scam! A text message to activate free software, that smelled like a scam from a mile away... Now the question is how to fight against this fraud effectively! But always do research if in doubt or in illogical situations.

Indeed, the Open Office package downloaded from "http://www.openoffice-gratuit.com/"
requires an activation key obtained by sending a text message (for 3 euros).

I often fall victim to this kind of scam and I just got caught up in one.. I would also like to know if the version I installed (after being charged 3 euros) is the same as the one downloaded from openoffice.org?

I had the same thing happen to me, yet I went through the site telecharger.com
But I suspected something, so I just closed the window and reopened the software, and it allowed me to finish the installation normally and of course without paying the 3 euros!

I can't get the OpenOffice key.

It's really bizarre the whole SMS thing....
