Hello,
I installed the software provided with the Samsung YP-K3 player, connected my player to the PC, so far no problems.
However, once data has been transferred to the player, how do I safely disconnect the USB cable and retrieve the player?
With my old MP3 player, I used to get a message saying: "you can safely remove the device" but not this time, so I'm afraid of damaging the player.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hello everyone
So contrary to popular belief, the k3 is not a video player, only an mp3.
For those whose computer cannot recognize it, it's simple: (under XP) just go to the Control Panel and if it's not the case, click on "Switch to Classic View" then "Sound and Audio Devices" and in the Hardware tab select YP-k3 and finally "Troubleshoot" and if everything goes well, everything will be unlocked...
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.-

Merci.

Hello,
I have a problem with my YPK3, my computer doesn't recognize it anymore, but it is recognized by other computers where I install the Samsung Media Studio software. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but nothing works; my MP3 is still not recognized... Do you have a solution??? Also, my MP3 charges very poorly when connected to my computer; I hadn't noticed before because I have an adapter that makes my life a lot easier... Can you reply to me on MSN??? I'm really nice lol mimine126@hotmail.com THANK YOU -
Here is a solution found on the forum. I had the same problem....... and now it works normally
Did you install Windows Media Player 10 or 11 on your PC?
If yes:
- you need to uninstall it - menu 'Start' - 'Settings' - 'Control Panel' - 'Add/Remove Programs' - on the left, click the button for components and disable Windows Media Player (WMP) - then on the left, click the button to remove programs and uninstall WMP
- install your Samsung software
- connect your mp3 with the USB cable
- reinstall WMP by downloading it from the appropriate site
- in 'Start' - 'Programs' - 'Administrative Tools' - 'Computer Management' - 'Device Manager' - you should see a yellow exclamation mark (or something similar) under 'Portable device' - 'Samsung YP-xx' - right-click mouse 'update drivers' by searching on Windows Update (remove your Samsung installation CD), the yellow thing should disappear
- in your 'Samsung' software, you should now see your mp3.
If you do not have WMP, I don't know but it seems it would be simpler.

Hello everyone and happy holidays!! I also have a problem with my Samsung MP3 YP-K3 =S I got it a few weeks ago and it was working very well!! Today I wanted to add some music to it using the Samsung Media Studio software and it’s not working =( I get a message that says: "File transfer to the portable device failed" !! So I tried to format it, and now I have nothing on it and I still can't put any music on it!!!
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance!! -

In fact, he doesn't recognize it because it's like that, and you tried going into the control panel and entering mobile devices; it should be there. You can access it and do some things, or otherwise regarding removing it, well with this you can remove the drive as soon as you're done without any problem; that's how they're made.

Hello everyone!
I also have a problem regarding this MP3. As indicated, I installed the CD with the "media studio." They mention in the guide that to put music on the MP3 player, you have to go through "media studio," but no matter how many songs I try to put on the right side of "media studio," no music appears on my MP3... I've been struggling for several days now trying in vain to get my music onto the MP3, and I'm getting desperate... If you could help me, it would really mean a lot... Thanks in advance to everyone!
I'm leaving my internet and msn address in case anyone can help me: espagniiole_x3@hotmail.fr

I got a Samsung YP-U3 for Christmas, but there's a problem: I can't get it to be recognized by my computer! I went to the control panel and everything, but it doesn't work! I have the Media Studio software, but the only issue is: no device registered!! Help!!!!!

I recently bought an S5, but I can't upload videos (avi) to the device.
I should specify that these are ripped movies. Is it a DRM issue, a player issue, or a mistake on my part?
Thank you for your help. -
Sorry for "polluting" the discussion, my problem concerns a Samsung YP S5.
-
To safely remove the MP3, you need to go to the menu in the top left above the playback bar, click on it, then on portable device, and safely remove the device.
There you go. -
Hello and Merry Christmas!
Well, I see that we are all in the same boat!
I have exactly the same problem, my computer does not recognize my MP3 and I can't do anything, if you have any answers please come to my aid!!
Thank you! -
Hi everyone,
It's the same for me.
My reader doesn't show up anywhere despite the software installation. Any solution?
Thank you. -
HELLO
I bought the Samsung YP-K3J and I can't put videos on it, even though the seller told me I could do that when I bought it! Please help me!!! -
Apparently, all Samsung readers must be affected, I have exactly the same problem with the S5: not recognized by the PC, not recognized by Media Studio. On the Samsung website, it's not much better: the download links for the latest versions of the software and firmware don't work, nor do those leading to the frequently asked questions.
REALLY WELL DONE SAMSUNG!!! -
Good evening,
I had the same problem.
Not being able to get Samsung Media Studio to work and not knowing anything about computers, I installed the latest version of Windows Media Player,
now I can use my Samsung YP-K3 4GB without any issues.
Good luck to everyone! -
Well, I finally managed to get it to work, but on a friend's laptop (let's just say it's very convenient: I have to wait to see him to be able to add or delete a song!!!)
Indeed, first of all, you need the latest version of Windows Media Player, but apparently it doesn't work with very old versions (really old: even the one from 2007 doesn't work) of Windows XP...
So there you go, it works for me even though the makeshift system on my friend's computer isn't practical; at least it works!! And when it works, you have to admit it's a great product, easy to use...etc, so GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I bought a Samsung MP3 key thinking I could use it as a means of storing information other than music, but that is not the case!! It is recognized as a simple player and not as a full disk, how can I make it a real USB key as well?
Thank you in advance for all the information you might possibly provide. (Because I see that I am far from being the only one in this situation!) -

It's all good, I succeeded!!! I had to uninstall everything, reset my MP3, and start all over!! However, I can't safely eject my MP3 =( I clicked on the menu above the playback bar, but "safely remove portable device" is grayed out, so I can't click on it!! I'm afraid to damage my MP3 if I keep unplugging it without doing anything!!
-
Like all of you, I have the same problem: I don't have the "Eject Hardware Safely" icon with my K3.
TheDevil => I don't even see the K3 in "Sound and Audio Devices."-
Hello!
To answer your questions concerning the "safely remove hardware" shortcut: if it does not appear, it is simply because with this type of player and with certain versions and configurations of Windows, it is of no use...
So if some have the shortcut and others do not, it is due to the configuration of Windows!
There you go, everything is thus simplified....- Il semble que votre MP3 Samsung YP-K3 ait un problème de batterie ou un problème interne.

TheDevil, do you have a solution to display "Safely Remove Hardware"? Because with the Samsung Media Studio software, it's possible by going to the menu, clicking on device, and then safely removing it, but the text is gray for me, so I can't click on it!!!
Thank you in advance.
