Medion MD 96350 Laptop - Wi-Fi

Good evening,
Quite disappointed owner, I have the complete collection of problems discussed on this forum. Reinstalling Windows VISTA in French OK but the drivers are missing. Found these on the DVD "application and support" and installed by colleagues in IT. But still imposs-i-ble to activate the WIFI function. I tapped the "wifi button just to the right of the start button on the keyboard" a little, a lot, angrily, and no reaction. The trick given at http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet 7215 activation du wifi integre sur un pc portable#medion (FN + F1 or F2 or F11) also does not work).
Another idea?
Thanks in advance for the help

Yes that's true. I also have the portable Medion MD 96350 and I had problems with wireless (Wi-Fi) and I searched and searched for a few hours! When I pressed the Wi-Fi button to the right of the power button to turn on the PC, nothing happened. So I reinstalled Launch Manager (in Local Disk "D" Windows Vista drivers, then you look at all the drivers, you will find Launch Manager, then Setup, it will reinstall it, then it will ask to restart the PC. After restarting, click the Wi‑Fi button and it will work!) ... give me news to see if it worked.

Thank you very much, my brother, you are my savior this evening.
I formatted my Medion PC at 3:00 PM and since then I’ve been trying to activate my WiFi but with no success. By chance on this forum, I came across the solution to my problem (in Local Disk "D" Windows Vista driver and then you look at all the drivers you will find Launch Manager, then Setup, it will reinstall it and then it will ask to restart the PC. After restarting the PC, click the WiFi button and it will work!), and from the first attempt it worked.

Good evening, I don’t know the Medion, but did you check in the device manager if your network card doesn’t have a driver problem or something else

    Vista isn’t the party

I found the solution! Maybe it will work for you too.
      First of all:
1 Install Launch Manager for WINDOWS XP!! Even if you are under Vista.
2 Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt (right-click and run as administrator) then enter: "netsh winsock reset" without quotes and restart the computer.
      There you go! Good luck!

I was so pissed off that I wanted to throw the PC... then after searching and tinkering, I realized that FN + F7 reactivates the card!!!

    I just called the hotline.
Apparently you need to reinstall Launch Manager (see your CD in the drivers directory)
    Cheers

I have the same problem. I don't have Vista, so I installed Windows 7. Everything seems correct (drivers). I press the Wi-Fi button. There is a sound beep but the Wi-Fi is not activated and the indicator is not on.
    Please help.

I had exactly the same problem.
I went to Medion's site, I specified the model (MD 96290 in my case) and the MSN number (which is located under the computer).
Once the exact model of my PC was displayed, click on drivers and download:

      LOGICIEL LAUNCH MANAGER WIM 2160
      Version: 1.4 - Win Vista 64bit/Win Vista 32bit

which is compatible with Win7 32bits and after the install, the wireless key will be activated.

      Best regards

Solution for WIN 7 PRO 64 BIT - Fresh install on SSD!
    Hello everyone,
After searching ... for a good many hours, I found the solution on a German forum! :
    http://forum.chip.de/windows-7/wlan-taste-fuer-akoya-md-96350-funktioniert-1326522-page2.html

Where they mention that you need to install the touch keyboard driver

    TOUCH PAD DRIVER WIM 2140/WIM 2170/WIM 2180/WIM 2190
    Version: 10.0.14.0 - Win Vista 64bit/Win Vista 32bit/

Attention, when I installed this driver, I couldn't do it with the setup.exe, but I had to go into the WinNTS/x64 subfolder: then run the setup.exe from that folder! and it works!

Already at this stage, the touch buttons (to the right of the POWER button) beep when pressed!, but still no wifi activation.

    Then I installed LAUNCH MANAGER 1.4.9 lauwim2210wxpsvt.exe
(Another version may work, but I didn't test it because the German site cited this combination!)
Everything works perfectly for me! PHEW, I was two steps away from reinstalling VISTA (bleh).
My computer has been rejuvenated: a new SSD and 4GB of RAM!

I hope you’ll be able to do it too! Good luck
