Hello,
I was watching TV when suddenly, nothing. It turned off. When I try to restart it, the standby light is blinking.
Help me plizz!!! Attention electronics experts, I'm a novice... So, please leave the soldering or component changes aside: that's not for me.
Thank you.

I also have the same problem with my 82cm Sony TV.
I turn it on. The sound starts. No picture, and after 2 seconds everything goes off. The standby LED blinks 16 times!!!
Without doing anything, it restarted the next day as if nothing had happened, but the problem returned in the evening... What is it?

I have the same issue as you, except that the standby light flashes when the television is turned on. Is this the beginning of the end?
Hello everyone, I have exactly the same problem; when I turn it on, I have sound but no picture, and the standby indicator is blinking. Can someone help me?
I first had more and more difficulty turning it on, several attempts, then sound but no picture, then it turns off and the red diode blinks, and now there is no activation at all, just the red blinking light and no sound, probably the high-voltage transformer or capacitor... can we see a schematic? THANK YOU IF INFO I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THE FAULT IF REPAIRED.
I opened the back cover, I removed the dust, but the problem persists, the standby indicator is blinking and the image appears after 10 minutes.
I think it's probably due to a faulty capacitor, if anyone has a solution!!!

I also have a Sony KV Q80. I'm watching a show that I've been waiting for a week, and as soon as it starts, the picture disappears, leaving only the sound for a few seconds, and the green/red LED starts blinking 7 times. I don't know what to do; this TV is too heavy, over 100 kg. Ohhhh, it's annoying.
Same problem, 27po kv-27fs320 2004, the standby light blinks 5 times in red.
When turned on, we hear the speakers as if it is turning on and off at the same time.
It lasts 3 seconds and then the standby light blinks. I would like to know if it can be repaired.
Thank you.

Good evening,
I can help you if:
1/ number of blinks?
2/ exact TV model?
3/ do you want to fix the TV yourself (or through a friend who is an electrician)?
If the LED blinks twice, it is likely a protection issue due to excessive internal current consumption.
This means that one of the power components is faulty (transistors, capacitors, flyback transformer, or CRT...)
Generally, it's the power supply that fails (transistors) in TVs, and any good repair technician can handle it for a few dozen euros. If it's the flyback transformer: a bit more expensive (around 150 euros?). Buy him the technical documentation online for 10 or 20 euros if he doesn't have it.
For SONY TVs like chassis FE-1 and FE-2 (like yours), there are many issues with the tube (unfortunately) which is quite fragile (ah, the good old CRTs from the '80s that still work...). After a certain time, the electrodes deform, and depending on the heating time each time you turn it on, it can cause various defects... There's no way to give you a single answer, but know that there is a lot of troubleshooting documentation for Sony TVs online, often for free... (many tips and tricks as well) If you feel like a handyman, please pay attention to the safety precautions when working on high voltage and the flyback transformer.

Hello jsalvagaia,
Thank you for your recommendations, not too alarmist after all... However, we still need to find a "reliable and affordable" repairman
My TV (Sony Trinitron KV-29F2B) has just encountered the same issue: the standby light blinks twice in a 5-second cycle. Well... it's over 11 years old after all.
On the other hand, I'm looking for the manual... (nothing on the SONY website..! if anyone has the URL...)
Best regards,
DiagMan

I am facing the issue of the standby indicator blinking on my Sony television.
It is a SONY KV-32FX66B, and the standby indicator blinks 8 times.
Is it serious, doctor? What is your diagnosis?
Thank you in advance.

Just a testimony in favor of Sony, I have as my main TV the first black Trinitron released in the fall of '86.
In 22 years, just one malfunction, the power button burned out, I replaced it for 30 francs back then.
It still has a fantastic picture.
Is your problem with the screen changing erratically related to the heat level or does it appear even when the television is cold?

I have a Sony 37-inch Bravia television.
Bought new in December 2009. It broke down on January 30, 2010: the green LED lights up and then turns off. Sony announced a part replacement because it stems from a manufacturing defect. The website clearly indicates the related issues, and the technician confirms that Sony knowingly continues to sell them.
On March 28, 2010: same breakdown.
On April 12, 2010: the television no longer turns on.
No diagnosis has been made on the installation, to check if my wall sockets had any defects or my TV antenna. Two interventions to change the same part and soon a third one that I hope will lead to court.
In any case, if this happens to you: call customer service, the intervention is of course free and at home. The problem, according to both technicians, comes from the non-power supply board.

Hello, I am looking for the user manual for the television. Is there anyone who could scan it for me? Thank you in advance.
Hello,
I have a Sony Trinitron KV 28FX20B.
When I turn it on, the front LED stays on for 1 second, no picture, no sound.
A dull and shrill sound is emitted for a few seconds.
I thank in advance everyone who will have read this post.

I took off the hood, cleaned off the dust, and punched the hood and the screen, and then the screen lit up. Alright, let me know if it worked.
Hello everyone, I have the same issue as you, I looked at the technical review, it offers solutions for all problems except this one, how convenient!!!! I quote "The standby indicator is flashing: Please contact the after-sales service of your dealer."
Good evening,
as I mentioned in my message, I don't have a solution at this stage, but if we unplug the TV and let the capacitors discharge, we can restart it much more easily, and it then works perfectly. However, the problem reappears the next time it's turned on.
I recovered this TV after it had been stored for several days.
After putting it back in service, it worked perfectly for almost a month, then I had to deal with increasingly frequent power-ups in recent days.
So, we are facing an electrical issue related to the charge.
I would like to hear from a tech. Is there no tool available to discharge the high voltage for technical intervention? Could that apply in our case?
Thank you.

Hello,
Very interesting comment!
I had the same problem with a PHILIPS TV (which I set aside) I got a THOMSON and now I'm facing the same problem with the standby light flashing! Disconnected all night but nothing works!!! Following your advice, I took my old TV back and MIRACLE it works!!! So I'm wondering! Is it because of the home theater? Or the Canal Sat decoder that is causing this load-related problem? Because damn!!! As of today, I can't afford a flat screen and the problem would remain the same after a few months anyway. Now, is it possible for specialists to check the proper or improper load of devices?
Thank you! :-)
Béatrice.

I have a Sony TV model KV-28FX20B, but the screen isn't clearing up because I'm a technician. I changed the 24C32, but I still have a vertical line; I can't get rid of this line. I think it's a memory problem.

I have the same problem, the standby indicator is flashing and I can't turn it on with the remote control
it could be the cathode lamp that is faulty but I’m not sure
thank you for getting back to me
I was almost there, in the meantime a repairman came, on the small circuit board behind the switch, a solder joint is working or poorly done from the factory (it's not adhered to the circuit) and that’s the cause of the malfunction that’s gradually getting worse until nothing works anymore
just reheat it so that the solder sticks to the circuit, and see if you need to add some if necessary.
Hoping to help you fix your TV, mine takes a long time to turn on (11 years, maybe the same issue)
the diode is flashing too
A+
This is a very well-known problem with Sony!
It’s a update issue that hasn’t been carried out.
The TV goes into standby with the green button, and we hear the relay clicking every 30 seconds. If your TV is under warranty, it will be repaired for free by an approved technician; otherwise, it will cost you around 200 euros. All Sony TVs have this problem; normally, they should take care of everything, but they are turning a deaf ear.
Call SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE and apply some pressure, and if they refuse, tell them that you will leave bad reviews about them online.
As I am doing
Best regards
