Startup issue with American Megatrends

Hello, I have a problem with my Packard Bell laptop. When I turn it on, it shows American Megatrends and prompts to click F1 or 72, but when I click, it asks for a password. However, I didn't set a password. Can someone help me fix this issue without having to take it for repair? Please. Thank you.

That's it! And when I press F2 it takes me to the BIOS and I don't know what to do, it always brings me back to the American screen that appears during startup!! Thank you for getting back to me as soon as possible, I'm going abroad soon and I would really like to have my laptop!!!!!

You need to change the BIOS battery (In the PC)

How can I reset the BIOS? My computer is no longer under warranty...

You need to reset the BIOS by removing the battery for 3 minutes and putting it back; there will be no more password!

It's a small flat battery, diameter ~2cm, on the motherboard.

once I press f1 my PC restarts but after a few minutes it freezes and I can't do anything.

I had the same problem, so I replaced the battery and flashed my BIOS with the latest BIOS found on the manufacturer's website for my motherboard, and everything went back to normal.

I have the same problem except that my PC is very noisy on startup! I read on a forum that it might be the BIOS battery, so I opened my computer and there was a battery, I don’t know if it’s that, I’m looking...

IT'S BACK UP and my PC is working again, but I would like to know what the problem actually was to avoid a more serious issue.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

At startup of my PC, I get the following message from American Megatrends:

Press F1 to run setup

I have the same problem for over a year. When I start my computer, I see the "American Megatrends" logo with a bunch of messages similar to "MIKE JFI."
If I press F2, the computer starts normally. But when the desktop appears, the time shown in the bottom right corner of the screen is incorrect. It always shows 11:01 PM, and if I click on the calendar, I’m then in "December 2001."
Two computer technicians told me, like in your posts, that it was the battery inside the PC that is worn out. So, I had it replaced. However, when I restart my computer to check if everything is in order, bingo, the problem persists!!!

So if it's not the battery, what could it be???
If any of you have the solution!!!

I have this AMERICAN MEGATRENDS problem
I press F1 but I can't access Google until I've set the date and time correctly (it automatically resets to 2007 as soon as I turn it off)
Next, we opened the laptop (Asus VISTA premium) to remove and change the battery
Be careful, I regularly cleaned the fan but now it's impossible to access the battery without completely removing the bottom – after carefully removing about 20 screws, the battery is still inaccessible but visible)
Everything is back together and it works... but
