Asus computer stuck on American Megatrends

Question

when I start my Asus F5VL series computer, it gets stuck on this screen

Hello, I have an ASUS X51R laptop. This morning when I turned it on, the screen was stuck on www.ami.com American Megatrends! I had no way to exit from there (I don't understand English), so I pressed F2 to get out and then I went back to another page, and I exited with a save (I thought that was the only way to exit). Then the screen turned completely black, and I couldn’t do anything anymore! When I turn my laptop back on, the screen stays black, black, black and nothing else!? Can you help me please?

Hi, Well, I would suggest you press F2 when you see this message, for me you are on your boot, to avoid having it again, press F2.  I hope it will be fine after that.

I have the same kind of problem.
When I get the American Megatrends screen, I press F1 and the startup continues normally. However, I have to update the date and time every time.
Apparently, it’s a battery that needs to be changed, but I don’t know where it is located.
So if you have found the solution, I'm interested.

I know I'm 2 years late in replying, but you never know.

I have the same issue with my Asus Z53Jp, which freezes on American Megatrends.
BIOS battery changed, boot test without hard drives or RAM. No result.
My screen remains stuck on the loading of American Megatrends during disk detection.

Solution to the problem. It's due to the graphics card (which is integrated) in my case.

If changing the BIOS battery didn't solve your problem, then it's the graphics card.

Good evening. The problem does not come from your computer but from the American Megatrends AMI BIOS. The solution is to remove the hard drive and install it in an
external enclosure on another PC... on this other PC, go to Start... right-click on My Computer..... manage and finally, disk management
. Your hard drive will appear along with its partitions at the bottom of the list, you just need to delete all the partitions of the disk and not format anything
so that it will be like a new disk.. then put it back on the laptop and insert the installation CD into the drive at startup of the PC and wait for the
OS installation page which will necessarily be displayed when the BIOS cannot find any alternative but to boot from the CD... especially be patient, it
always works.
