Error 51331 unable to connect to Wii

Question

Hello everyone, apparently I'm having a big issue connecting this Wii to the internet via Wi-Fi. I think I’ve tried everything and nothing works; it always shows error 51331. I have the Inventel Livebox, I've tried both auto and manual modes, the Wii detects the Livebox well, but as soon as I go further, I get error 51331 and I've also had 51031. Just a little help needed because I'm struggling here; it was supposed to be simple at first. Thank you for responding. Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.9

To successfully connect your Wii to the internet, it's easy. You just need to redo the entire procedure, and at some point, the Wii will ask for the WEP key, which is located under your Livebox. Enter the key without clicking "OK". At that moment, on the box, synchronize it by pressing the right button until the light on the far left starts to blink, then you confirm the WEP key on the Wii, and there you are, connected! Hello,  I was in the same situation too! I was doing exactly the same process but got the same error 51331 And as luck would have it, I did as he explained, launched the sync before clicking OK and now everything works, thank you so much!

Precie9, the WEP key is the same as the security key. So enter the security key code and it will work :) Otherwise sync as it says more :)

Hello everyone, indeed it's a huge hassle, but I managed to do it. I have an Orange Livebox from the brand Sagem type 8662 and I was faced with error code 51331. After consulting various forums and applying different proposed solutions (pressing the button underneath the Livebox, etc.), I still couldn't get it to work. So I took the bull by the horns to find the following solution:  In the Orange Internet access tab, click on configure the Livebox.  Enter the username and password (admin and admin most of the time).  Then, go to the wireless network settings section. I was on channel 10, so I selected channel 11 (802.11 b+g but I'm not sure that made a real difference) and then I entered a new MAC address (that of the WII console which can be found in the WII menu, settings, internet, general information, and there, retrieve the MAC code to add it to your Livebox's list).  I launched the connection again, and there, miracle, it worked on the first try.  Wishing you all success......

I did as you said but for me it's a WEP key so I entered it all into my Wii but it always shows error 52030 in the end.  I hope you have another solution^^  Thanks for your help.

I am going to propose you two solutions to see if they work now  for the first one: * you need to press the "rec" button on the live box at the same time as on the wii when you test the connection and hold it down until the end!  don’t forget to put the spaces correctly when you enter the wii code "security key"  * second way to solve the problem you connect via ethernet cable directly from your livebox to the USB device of your wii  keep me posted, I will check with friends who were in your situation to find out their solutions ciao ^^ & good luck

I asked some friends who had the same problem as you, and they gave me two methods to see if they work now..  * You need to press the "rec" button on the live box at the same time as on the Wii when you do the connection test and keep it pressed all the way!   Don't forget to put in the spaces when you enter the Wii code "security key"  * Second way to fix the problem is to connect via Ethernet cable directly from your live box to the USB device of your Wii  If you have a WEP key, change the connection instead of setting WAP-TRIK to WEP, but I think you already did that.
