Hello,
I changed the bulb of my projector, but when I turn it back on, it doesn't work.
The orange LAMP/COVER LED on the top keeps blinking continuously.
I look forward to your solutions.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
VINCE6

For the MT200, there is a 90% chance that it is the lamp hood protection switch.
Under the small white cover that gives access to the lamp, there is a small tab that activates a metal blade.
It deforms with heat and/or breaks, it's classic.
Try to block it with something that won't be affected by heat.
Good luck,

HEY JAY !!
I owe you a big one because with your advice I just got my VP back which I thought was dead
Send me your postal address in a private message so I can send you a bottle to thank you :-)))
Catch you later- Glad it worked!
I think quite a few Toshiba MT200s must have ended up in the trash because of this,
when it really just takes a little bit to get them going again, once you know how...
It's not to advertise (I work at Texas Instruments which makes the chips for these DLP projectors)
but it's a nice little projector, mine is 2-3 years old, about 2000 hours and after the little fix above
it's still working well with the original lamp...
As for the drink, that's very nice but to keep it simple,
drink to my health in the name of technical solidarity
before enjoying a good movie with a few friends on your saved projector ;>...
Best regards,
Jay

Thank you for your advice, but I no longer have the manual, and I can't even access the menu for the reset; it won't turn on.
Could you tell me where I can find a manual? -
Hello
I bought this projector in January 07, the bulb had 573 hours, and it just literally exploded.
Yet it was very well ventilated; if anyone has had the same issue, please contact me.
Originally, it is rated for 3000 hours.
I’m quite annoyed. -
Hello,
If the yellow LED is flashing, it means that one of the safety contacts is not established. The first one is located at the ventilation grille and the other at the lamp change door.
If the LED stays on, it means that the lamp has burnt out or the lamp ballast has burnt out, or the thermal fuses.
Start by checking the thermal fuse just above the lamp; when you have removed the top cover of the device (the front of the device facing you), there is a large circuit board in the shape of a V. On the left side of the circuit board, just above the lamp, there are two small black wires, and at the end, there is the thermal fuse. Disconnect it and check it with an ohmmeter; if it passes, it is good, and if you do not have a measuring device, you should short-circuit it. After that, if it works, buy a thermal fuse rated at 102 degrees.
To check the ballast, you can measure the input current to the ballast (the input is located at the back of the device) with two black wires; it should have about 390V AC, and at the output of the ballast, that is, at the lamp side, do not measure the output because it will damage the device (too high a current).
I have already repaired my device by changing the thermal fuse and bypassing the lamp door contact.
Sincerely.-
Hi Olivier, I see you know a lot about projectors, so I have a question you might be able to answer! Here it is, my projector was making weird noises, like gas escaping or a short circuit; I couldn't quite define it. Then I took it apart and noticed that the noise was coming from a little black box where four red tubes connect. Since I don't know much about projectors, I didn't want to touch anything before getting the opinion of someone more experienced. And now it just gave out on me; when I press the button, I can hear the capacitor, but the screen is black, only my red light is blinking. So if you can help me, that would be really nice.

Hello Olivier,
I also have a problem with my PHILIPS projector model Astaire.
I thought it was a good idea to change the lamp of my projector because it broke down with only the lamp indicator showing red on the device. Believing it was worth changing the already very expensive bulb,
I noticed that it didn’t change anything and my projector still doesn’t work.
In fact, it no longer ventilates and you mentioned a thermal fuse; I think I found it with its two black wires.
It’s from ELMWOOD 2455R with the references L95C U31 03 9209 926. I’m going to have it tested at work tomorrow to see if it’s good. In case it’s not good, where can I buy an identical one?
And if it’s still good, how can I solve my ventilation problem that prevents the lamp from working? You mentioned a ballast; what is it? And how can I have it repaired? Thanks in advance for your valuable help.

Hello everyone,
I have had an MT200 for a year, and last week it broke down, nothing works, it won’t turn on!
I immediately thought it was the bulb, but the device doesn’t power on at all, no noise or standby light.
Can anyone tell me if there is a fuse to change? If so, what does it look like because I started to open
the device and there’s nothing apparent... -
