Hello. For my search engine I use Google and when I open the software I can access my emails on Gmail and my Google account. But Yahoo has taken over my search engine. I opened the settings to disable Yahoo and clicked on Google to get back to my usual routine, except that there is no Google among the various search engines offered!!! Yet when I am in the settings and click on Default Browser, I can read "Google Chrome is your default browser"!!!
What can I do to restore Google as the default browser and as the default search engine!
These problems started after the uninstallation of McAfee because I have Avast antivirus. Since this uninstallation I keep having problems and pop-up messages!!
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
You can either save your favorites and use ResetBrowser
Or remove the unwanted parasites extensions and search engines in this way with RegRun Reanimator:

The extensions are located in tab #6 (Browser Plugins) and the search engines in tab #5 (Search Settings)
Uninstall Avast and any remnants of McAfee if you find them.
Do you have Windows 11 or 10 or older?
With Windows 10 and 11 you have Windows Defender, no need to take over a third-party antivirus.
You can however test or add UnHackMe which resembles RegRun Reanimator
Its effectiveness depends a bit on you, but it’s effective against all kinds of unwanted stuff. -
And, could you continue here, please.
