"Error 68" message Xbox 360 Solved/Closed

Question

Hello everyone,
I sold my dear Xbox 360 online to a buyer. It is a console that has never been modified (no chips, no flashing), it has always been well cared for and received the best treatment. In short, my buyer is reporting that when he turns on the console, he gets a black screen displaying the following message: "error 68." He has consulted forums (as have I) and he tells me that it might be related to the hard drive (???). I am confident in the quality of my sold product and he is asking me for advice to clarify the issue. He also pointed out that the console works normally when the hard drive is removed.
Has anyone here encountered this issue, specifically displaying the error message 68, with no possibility of doing anything with their 360 (not even navigating through the menus)? Please note that before selling my item, I formatted the hard drive (but I still checked and it was working). Thank you for your insights. Belghachi

Hum, check on the Microsoft site, but to my knowledge, this error means that the hard drive has a problem.

I was confronted with this problem; I know the subject well. I had my 360 repaired four times before buying an Elite. You found the issue yourself; it comes from the hard drive. The first thing to do is to call Xbox 360 customer service: 0800915274. From there, they will change your hard drive. See you!

Hello, just for your info, it happened to me yesterday, I have 2 Xbox 360 and I wanted to put the hard drive from one on the other, I got an error and then I formatted the hard drive and had no more problems, that's my experience

Hi!!! If the console is still under warranty, call Microsoft, explain your problem to them, and they will send you a new hard drive ;)

To format the hard drive, you need to go to memory, press Y, and choose format. For my part, I have the same problem, I formatted the hard drive and put my backups on a memory card, and I've always had this problem, so I unplugged everything and reinserted the hard drive, and it seems to work again.

A piece of advice, if you don't want to format your hard drive, unplug everything and plug it back in, and if the same problem persists, well, store your backups on a memory card and format your hard drive.
