Hello,
I have a Sony DSC-W1 camera and when I turned it off, the zoom wouldn't retract and the message E:61:00 appeared. Three firm slaps with the palm of my hand on the lower left side of the camera and it was back to normal; the message disappeared and the zoom worked again. I performed the operation with the device turned on.
It's miraculous.
A thousand thanks...

I thought it had gotten damp... but with three slaps, everything works perfectly again
you could say it's miraculous!!! -
Nikel, E:61:00 = problem with the zoom
for me it was dust, a little cleaning, a blast of air and it's all good -
Thank you so much! I had been tormenting myself for days wondering if I was going to have to change it or not... and it's miraculous, it's working perfectly again! What a relief.. hehe Thanks a lot!

Thank you, I had the same error E:61:00 on my Sony Cybershot camera of 5.1 MP and I slapped it and tried to clean the zoom. It works now.
Thank you very much. -

I tried it with a Sony DSC T70 that had fallen on the ground, it works again thanks to some cleaning and a few slaps on the sides, thank you very much!

Hello, I have the same problem with my device because I dropped it from quite a height. But I tried giving it 3 taps and it still doesn’t work... What should I do?
Thanks in advance. -

Actually, it works too well but stronger than you, two slaps were enough ;-)
In any case, thanks for the tip, you're a pro. -

Error E:61:10 on a Sony Cybershot DSC T25, it is indeed the optical zoom (after a trip to the beach...) +> by tapping the camera on the zoom side (on a desk and mouse pad) several times, I managed to unlock the zoom.

Indeed, I had the same problem and I followed your advice, and it's really amazing; it works like before. Thank you.

It's the first time I've found a solution to a complicated problem on "How it works"...
It's brutal but it works! -
Proven method successfully tested on a PC109 camcorder that has been stuck for a while. I had tested several methods: trying manual adjustments, unplugging and reattaching the battery, with random results - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Always the same symptom: zoom stuck in the tele position, no focus.
A little slap on the left side is radical. It’s another application of the kick-at-the-bottom method that I successfully tested on the washing machine.
Thank you for this confirmation: old methods are the only real ones. -

thank you for the advice ..............
after three slaps on the bottom left, the error disappeared and it works great again
it's a bit unorthodox but super effective
