Free backup software

Hello,

I'm looking for a completely free backup software to back up my PC to an external SSD.

I want it to be able to automatically update the folders. For example, I have a folder A where I have a lot of photos at the root, which is also backed up on the SSD. Tomorrow, I modify it on my PC by creating subfolders B, C, etc. to organize the photos, so now there are only folders under folder A and no more raw photos.

I want this software to detect that, delete the photos under folder A on the SSD while updating it with the same new hierarchy.

I also want to be able to access the folders like any regular external hard drive.

Thank you for your help!

    Hello,

There is something I have been using for a long time, a Giveaway of O&O AutoBackup 6

    https://www.oo-software.com/en/special/ot739

It is designed to backup/synchronize personal folder data.

The system is a backup from time to time with another program

    https://www.oo-software.com/de/special/hdx918

For the setup of both programs:

    https://www.oo-software.com/en/download/archive

The manuals can be found online.

/!\ Very important: you must temporarily disable synchronization (Services.msc > O&O Autobackup) before performing a backup (DiskImage).

This way, it avoids deleting synchronized files when restoring the system and the synchronization with deletion restarts.

PS: I periodically clear the Autobackup history with a .cmd file, which contains this line, otherwise, it eventually bugs over time and it seems to help.

    del /s /q "C:\ProgramData\OO Software\AutoBackup\Reports\*.*"

It can take time, especially if there is one or more periods or special symbols in the addresses.

Most of the time I receive it the next day (An email where you have to click on the link to confirm, then you receive the license within seconds).
