Hello,

I have a Samsung LED TV and the infrared receiver on the TV is broken.

I would like to replace it with an infrared receiver that I can plug into the TV via USB. Will the remote control work?
Do you have a model you would recommend?
Thank you.

Good evening,

How did you arrive at this diagnosis..?

You can't think... not knowing the exact model of this Samsung TV.

One must know that TVs are increasingly coming with Bluetooth remote controls.. Not IR

would it be possible to install an infrared receiver via USB on the TV so that the remote works? Do you have a model to recommend?

Hello

The remote control IR receiver is not connected via USB and does not transmit the image information that goes through USB to the television.

Sometimes the crystal in the remote control breaks due to falls, just a few cents, but it’s not visible. Test the remote control on another Samsung TV.

If it’s really dead, you need to buy exactly the same receiver for the Samsung TV, period.

Check with a spare parts supplier specializing in TVs; here’s one, so they exist, but there must be several models of IR receivers. I haven’t asked if it’s for your TV.

And replace it in the same spot to connect it to the same socket.

But sometimes there’s a detail on a few Samsung models where you simply need to move the left speaker a bit; as surprising as it may sound, a sort of short circuit (capacitive, not ohmic) can happen due to lack of space: see this post that discusses different solutions:
