Messenger notifications on iPhone

Hello everyone,

I have been facing a problem for several months now without finding a solution to this day. I hope you can help me.

I receive my messenger notifications in English (X sent, shared, reacted…), even though my iPhone and the app are set to French.

When the app is open, I receive the notification in French, but once closed, I consistently receive it in English.

I’ve tried changing the language and reverting to French on my phone and in the app, without success. I’ve reset the settings to factory defaults and even reset the phone with the same result.

I’ve also tested solutions found here and there on the internet, like logging in from the browser to check that the language is indeed set to French (which it is), logging out from all other devices, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, disabling notifications for a while, etc.

When I log in on a Samsung, I receive notifications in French, which makes me think the issue is with the phone. I therefore contacted Apple Support, who redirected me to Facebook since I only encounter this problem with messenger. I have reported the issue many times but have never received a response, and the problem persists to this day.
