Update issue with the Xiaomi Poco M3

Hello,

I have a problem because I just saw that the Xiaomi Poco M3 can have Miui 13 and even Miui 14, but when I check for updates in the settings, it tells me that there are no updates available. Is that normal?

    If I am not mistaken, it's a 2020 model running Android 10.

    Like almost all phones, they update for 2 versions or 2 to 3 years: it will thus remain on Android 12.

    There may be unofficial ROMs available at your own risk to go a bit further, but their usefulness is not obvious anyway, Android 12 is not a very old version.

    Ok, I learned something, but I'm not on Android 12, I'm on 11, and my phone is only 1 year old, so maybe it's normal.

      Yes, I was the one who made a shortcut, the original Android version is 10 for the M3 and 11 for the M3 Pro, it's MIUI that is at 12.

      Regardless of the purchase date, the original Android/MIUI version is the same.

      Where there is ambiguity, for comparison, is with an Oppo 76 that I bought, if I recall correctly, 2 or 3 years ago, time flies, which immediately migrated from Android/ColorOS 11 to 12 then 13 where it stopped forever, but we can assume that this migration took place within 2 years of manufacture (2022).

      In the case that interests us, there may have been a previous deployment from Android 10 to 11 and there definitely was a deployment to MIUI 13 at the end of 2022:

      but we can assume that if the phone refuses it, the 2-year period applies not to the purchase date but to the manufacture date.
