Giant display microsoft money

Hello,

I'm running on Windows 11

AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60 GHz

64-bit operating system, x64 processor

Windows 11 Home

I had display issues with Microsoft Money 2005, 32bit which had been working fine until now, but since I had a display issue where Money wasn't appearing on the screen or in the taskbar, I opened "Settings" and I admit I clicked around a bit randomly, but now when I open Money, the display is very very large and I can't use Money.

Even the general display of Windows and the taskbar is larger. I opened Settings - Display, and the resolution is 1920x1080, 60Hz.

I don't know how to revert to a normal display.

Can someone help me to return to a normal display size?

Thanks to those who will respond to my request

    Hello...

Aside from the screen resolution, have you changed anything else? (for example, the Scale which is set to 100% by default... right above the resolution)

    See you later

    Re.....

What is the actual resolution of your screen?

Is the display of programs and others also "giant"?

What surprises me is that MsMoney requests a different display

    A+

    Hello jmarion3,

No, the scaling is still at 100%

when I open Money it displayed that it requires a screen with a minimum resolution of 800x600 and 256 colors. At the bottom of this display was "OK", I clicked on it and it was then that the display changed and since then, even the Windows windows have a weird size.

The size of the toolbar has also changed.

How can I restore the original display?

    RE...

The screen display is 1920x1080 with 256 colors.

The size of the toolbar display is also an issue.

The resolution stipulated by MsMoney is minimal.

Do you think that performing a System Restore to an earlier date could resolve this display issue?

That's exactly what I was about to suggest ► Perform a system restore to a date when everything was fine ...especially if you've changed settings without really knowing what you were doing, as mentioned above

      See you for the results

I thought that the display issues I was having with MsMoney, not showing on the screen or in the "Taskbar," were due to my system running at 64 bits and that MsMoney is stated as "32-bit Money."

I had tried the "Program Compatibility Troubleshooter."

Could it be related to that?

Can I revert to the old configuration without going through restoration?

      Re....

Earlier you wrote that MsMoney 2005 was working very well before ......so there’s no reason it shouldn’t be working today .....

Personally, I bought MsMoney 2005 in 2006 and it was working at that time on Windows XP-32bits and it still works perfectly under W11-64bits ...so your issue doesn't come from that.....

Where did you get your MsMoney 2005 from?

In my opinion, the best solution to resolve your issue without searching through the settings or anything else would be to do a system restore to a date prior to the problem

Uninstalling and reinstalling MsMoney wouldn’t change much I think because if you have randomly modified the display settings of W11, the issue should remain the same ...

      See you+

I performed a restore, but it didn't change anything about the display of MsMoney.

In the "recommended troubleshooting utility history," nothing is displayed, so I can't go back.

Since I could no longer find the Money CD, I downloaded "Money2005-FR-QFE3.exe" and it worked.

In Ms-Dos, isn't there a "REPAIR" command to repair Windows 11?

But not being a specialist, I don't know how to do it, nor if it would correct the MsMoney display issue.

After searching, I found out how to resolve the MsMoney display problem.

Go to the installation file, choose "msmoney.exe" and right-click/properties/compatibility, then uncheck "Reduced color mode" as well as "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution", then "Apply". Reopen msmoney.exe and the display returned to normal.

Thank you nonetheless for the help you provided, jmarion3.

    See you!

      Hello....

Thank you for the feedback...and I'm glad for you if everything is okay..

To be honest, I never would have thought to find your solution because I have certainly installed and uninstalled MsMoney several dozen times and I have never encountered this issue, let alone "tinker" with its executable.... It's good to know just in case ...

      Have a nice day

      Best regards
