Hello,

during an internet outage (fiber), I use my Sony Xperia XZ1 as a hotspot and share the connection via USB with my desktop PC and it works, but when I do this with my Freebox Player, nothing happens. Is that normal? If so, do you know if an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro can access the internet using my XZ1, and the same question for a recent laptop?

Hello

The Freebox player works with the fiber subscription which the phone is unable to "prove" through a simple connection sharing. I'm leaving it to other helpers to go into detail :-)

Aside from the decoder, all WiFi equipment should work.

Hello,

A PC USB port does not have the same functions in the operating system as a box USB port.

Basically, a box USB port can hardly do more than connect an external hard drive.

A PC USB port has a virtual network card driver that allows you to connect to the mobile hotspot.

Moreover, the Freebox Player is an extension of the Freebox Server and therefore cannot function without it; originally, the Freeboxes had only one box.

On the other hand, a regular IPTV box must be able to connect to the mobile hotspot via Wi-Fi.

And there you go, there you have it ....

But goodness, how annoying those line spaces are!!
