Hello too,

Courteous formulas are essential on the CCM Forum when you write... https://www.commentcamarche.net/infos/25855-charte-d-utilisation-de-commentcamarche-net-respect-d-autrui/#politesse

I don't really see what we can do, other than quarantine the infection.

Hello,

This file belongs to Adobe if it is safe.

You can find the path (See details) and analyze it on VirusTotal, and then give us the analysis link.

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload

This may be a false alert from Avast.

Hello,

A PUP is not strictly speaking a virus, it is an unwanted program. Avast may mistakenly or rightly consider that there is a program in Acrotray (the purpose of which we do not know, but that’s another question) that, for example, collects data for Adobe; I have no idea.

It is likely that this is a false positive, quite common in the free versions of Avast, because it itself is the PUP: it is an attempt to pressure the user into buying the paid version; the question may arise regarding Windows 7, although there are alternatives, but Avast has no interest in Windows 10 or 11 which have their own defense system activated by default and sufficient for most users.

Also note that a virus does not jump on people; as long as the Adobe software was installed from a legitimate source, it would only occur because a sketchy attachment, internet link, or software was recently downloaded, and it remains to be seen if it would not have other fish to fry than to attack Adobe.

Good evening brucine, and everyone,

Like you, I think that Adobe is reliable if installed in the official version.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for specifying the version of Adobe Acrobat or other and what activation?

Hello,

It's certain that, as I hinted earlier, if Acrobat Reader was downloaded from a questionable site or if Acrobat Full or another Adobe software fell off the truck, we're no longer playing in the same league...

                                                 greetings!

It's me again, my software didn't just fall off a truck. I found a bug that ended up in the Adobe Acrobat DC installer.

A cross was in place of the small image representing a save location, before the inscription

The problem seems to have disappeared, that's what I hope.

Fortunately, I am of a very advanced age. And I overlook the fact of going to retrieve the objects that fell off the truck. That can only stem from a lack of maturity regarding existence.

This isn't the first time Avast has acted up either.

I think we can mark the issue as resolved.

But if you have any questions, feel free to come back.

Have a good evening.

Cheers!
