Hello,
So, my HP computer has been blocked for 3 days. When I turn it on, when it asks me for my passcode to access my desktop, I enter my code and it says, "This login option is disabled due to failed login attempts or repeated shutdowns. Please use another login option or keep your device on for at least 2 hours, then try again."
I tried another login option, but I can't remember my credentials, and searching on Microsoft isn't working either. The computer has been on for 3 days, and still nothing.
What should I do? Does the computer going into sleep mode when the screen is open turn it off or not?
Thank you

Hello!

The sign-in option may be disabled after several failed login attempts for security reasons. One solution might be to attempt a system restore if you have one available. To do this, at the login screen, hold down the Shift key while clicking the power button in the bottom right corner, then click "Restart." You will then be taken into the Windows recovery environment where you can select "Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore."
Regarding your question about sleep mode, if your computer is configured to sleep, it does indeed stop most activities, including display, but it still consumes power. However, this does not prevent the system from being "on" to unlock the sign-in option.
Please note that if you do not have a restore point or if that does not work, it may be necessary to completely reset your PC, which will delete all your data. If you are not comfortable with these steps, I highly recommend seeking help from a professional or contacting HP support.
