Search impossible from a new google chrome tab

Hello,

For the past week, I haven't been able to perform a search from a new tab in Google Chrome.

I haven't made any updates, nothing at all.

Before, when I opened a new tab, I would type my search in the address bar (URL bar) and get the results; now, it redirects me to the Google.com homepage where I have to enter my search to get results. I haven't found anything online about this (I must be searching wrong)...

Do you have a solution to this problem?

Thank you in advance,

Yvan

@yvanstf StatutMembre .

No, you need to follow the procedure I mentioned, and if it's still the same, reset Chrome with resetbrowser.

I reset the Chrome settings, nothing changed, I did resetbrowser, nothing changed either... When I open a new tab and type a search in the address bar, it always takes me back to the google.com page where I have to retype my search...

Hello

Yet Google Chrome claims to be the most secure with its automatic updates every week.125.0 since May 30, just over a week ago, and in between, urgent security updates can arrive at any time, probably like Windows antivirus and Firefox.

Going through the homepage may not allow the use of another search engine, as many people manage to change the homepage of browsers; Google is well positioned to do so as it has all the permissions.

These are hypotheses looking for an easy external intervention without complicated infections; it is possible on Firefox to choose what appears when opening a new tab and on the homepage, we might search if Google allows this as well, quite simply.

If I choose Google as my search engine, I get the results directly on Firefox.

"Reset" maybe, unless he changed the settings himself, we give him the rights to do so.

"The first window to appear on my Edge search engine is that of Google. Afterwards, when I open new tabs, it's Microsoft's page that appears."

What Microsoft allows itself, why wouldn't Google do the same? I haven't followed who started first, but for them, it must represent a lot of money, with "sponsored ads," theirs at the top of course. Amazon has also launched its search engine. The richest companies in the world are in this race.

For Edge, Pistouri had made a small tutorial to successfully set Google as the search engine, using a "Google Chrome extension," which should work on Google Chrome since it comes from there.

On Firefox, I just click on help all in French to modify the content of the new tab, a real book everything is editable or accessible in several ways.

I haven't tested Google Chrome's help, but content modification for the new tab can be found online, worth testing:
