Normally, you just need to follow what is explained in the documentation.

For more details, let us know how you connect to your printer (wi-fi, usb...) and what hp-setup is saying.

thank you very much for your response, I actually have a wifi problem so the issue has been resolved with the usb which immediately recognized the printer

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that it is also possible to connect your printer via Wi-Fi (which can be handy if you want to print from other devices). This is set up purely at the printer level (check the manual). Make sure that your router is in pairing mode when you try to connect your printer. If you need more details, let us know what model of router you are using and if you are able to connect via Wi-Fi with other devices.
