Hello,

I want to switch internet providers and I would like your opinion on the Freebox Ultra. I came across it while reading this article (https://www.boutique-box-internet.fr/free/box/freebox-ultra/) and I found the offer interesting.

Has anyone of you already tested it?

Thank you very much!

    Hello,

    I found the offer interesting

    So did Rodolphe.

He discovered that with the Freebox he can call landlines in 70 countries from his home for free. "Hello, hello, I’m Rodolphe... Como esta dans la casa?" He tested it, he learned 70 languages. Since then, he has been giving classes. "Lesson 1: the French kiss." He has Free, he understands it all!

There was also that in Joan of Arc mode.

        Hello,

The last words of Joan of Arc on the stake!

"You didn't believe me? Well, you'll have me roasted!"

    Hello,

this boutique-box site is a bit too vague :-(

Starting with this which makes no sense:

Thanks to its 6 GHz bandwidth, this Free box ensures smooth and uninterrupted connections.

If you want to know everything, there's a lot to unpack (both literally and figuratively, as the discussion is very, very long, with around 3000 posts).

And there you go, voilà ....

But goodness, the line spacing is so annoying !!

      Hello,

Everyone does what they want with their money, but for the average individual (and even professionals), I don't really see the point of the claimed withdrawal.

        Well,

it's like 300hp cars or branded clothes, just a matter of image  ;-)

        Personally,

I have a fiber box for €19 a month (for one more month) :-)

    Hello,

I don't have any user experience with this box. I'm just giving you my opinion.

The promised Wifi 7 and ultra high speed are just selling points:
Like most users, you probably don't have any devices compatible with Wifi 7 and you don't care about a speed of 8 Gb/s (which will likely be limited by the servers you connect to).
However, it does ensure that you have a box that won't be technologically outdated.

There are other points to consider:

    1) The VOD offer, in the most expensive version of the box, is very interesting and probably unmatched, even if it’s not the premium versions of the subscriptions being offered.

    2) The box can be equipped with SSD storage, which is an improvement over the POP.

    3) The box is delivered without a Player. Currently, the only available player is the one from the POP and it’s probably not the best that Free has offered. Free is supposed to release a Player for the Freebox Ultra, but there is a delay.
This means it’s better if you have a recent TV, ideally running Android TV, to install OQEE Free and benefit from a maximum 4K picture.

Personally, if I had to replace my FB Revolution, I think I would opt for the Freebox Ultra Essential, so without the VOD offer. (I don't want ads on Netflix).

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Do you think they will make a player for Freebox Ultra?

Nowadays, with Android TVs, the player isn't really relevant anymore; the TV itself is the player.

The 8 Gbit/s, for most users, translates into 4x2 at best, since that's the average speed of Wi-Fi 7, compared to 0.5 Gbit/s for Wi-Fi 6, I think, and not many people will invest in a 10 Gbit/s card.

However, Wi-Fi 7 is really likely to explode in the next 3 years and will probably last a long time, just like 802.11g in its time; 802.11n didn't bring much and was quickly overshadowed by 802.11ac, which was a real improvement.

Do you think they're going to make a player for Freebox Ultra?

It's Xavier Niel who announced it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tlh4AMYo28

It's true that the player seems to be on borrowed time. We can easily do without it on current TVs (even with the FB Revolution).

    Hello

I have had the Ultra for over a month, it’s a joy!
At first, I had trouble transferring my Netflix accounts… but I found a clear and precise video on the steps.

I’m getting +600 Mbps/second and about 300 on my 5G (depending on the places, of course it’s not perfect but more than sufficient) I was with Orange before with the Livebox at €42 per month when a salesperson offered me the Free deal. My total monthly bills were over €120 with the phones, VOD services, and the box. Now I’m down to €70 with 2 phones.

I changed because all operators do the same thing with a few details: price and commitment.

I hope I’ve answered your questions

I leave here the contact of the salesperson who installed the Ultra box for me.

      Hello,

      a salesman who installs something?

That's new, and a technician doesn't cover all of France.

Also, what's the connection between the box and Free 5G, other than that it's a bit cheaper?
