Hello, I signed up on merkandi thinking I could buy safely since they tell me the supplier is reliable. I ordered, and as a result, I was scammed out of €3000, and merkandi is washing its hands of it.

The terms and conditions of Merkandi (which is just a matching platform..) state:
§ 9. Exclusion of warranty
Merkandi's liability is limited by the following provisions:
1. Merkandi is not responsible for the transactions and information exchanged between clients / wholesalers.
2. Any liability of Merkandi for goods and services provided to the buyer by the seller is excluded. In particular, Merkandi disclaims any responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of data and statements provided by the buyer or the wholesaler, for the quality and fitness for use of goods and services to be provided and their suitability for achieving the objective set by the buyer, for any infringement of third-party rights by the goods and services as well as for the existence, credibility, and solvency of clients.
3. Merkandi cannot absolutely exclude that the person deemed to be the buyer or wholesaler actually exists in the statements of intent submitted or received on Merkandi. The actual existence of the statement of intent is therefore uncertain. The user who accepts or publishes an offer acts at their own risk regarding the existence of the contracting party.
In short, Merkandi (UK Company) disclaims all responsibility..
