La restauration de "MY PhoneExplorer" ne semble pas exister..??

Hello,

In the context of Android smartphones, I use the "PhoneExplorer" utility to transfer or clone a new model from the old one, either via Wi-Fi or USB.

-- Everything works to pull the content from the old phone to my PC

-- I would like to be able to transfer it to the new phone... But this function does not seem to exist; or maybe I just haven't found it...

How should I do that..??

I must say that in my case, the old model is broken and the touch screen does not work... Plus, the two USB connections are different: USB-C and micro-B

    OK, so the app is "MyphoneExplorer" version 2.1... Sorry, I didn't use the exact name.

    Indeed, it copies contacts, calls, SMS, the calendar, and files (photos and videos in particular) that works... but I'm looking for the Restore..??

    It also allows you to make a Backup... a bit mysterious...

    During the backup, it seems to do everything, but during the Restore, a lot is missing, I can only find the contacts

    It uses ADB functions...

    The home clone only works if both are of the same brand...

    Anyway, I feel a bit lost...

    I can access the broken model with a mouse on the USB... a bit tough, but it works.

      The brand cloning software only allows certain transfers if both source and destination are from the same brand (for example, Samsung), but this is not always the case; I transferred from Samsung to Oppo without any issues using the Oppo software.

      On MyPhoneExplorer, as I mentioned, the backup is independent of synchronization, see for example here, and to restore (not sure on a different phone and in any case only contacts, SMS...) you need to have done it:

      What brand is your new phone, but in any case if the old one is dead you wouldn't be able to install it there?

      If it's not that dead and it allows it, we can also transfer them from internal memory to the SIM.

        Hello everyone.
        Regarding Myphonerexplorer that I use, I confirm, no, the restore can only work on the same device.
        However, if that's the case, it restores everything, (as long as we've selected everything in the settings.)

    The old one is a "Realme GT Neo 3 RMX3563"... Android 14

    The new one is a DOOGEE S41 Pro Android 14 as well

    It's the screen of the Realme that is no longer responsive and has a wide white band.. Otherwise, it works, using a mouse to click on the icons..

    That's the story (a teenager's story who drops their phone)

    -- I was imagining that "MyPhoneExplorer" using ADB could have had another script to accomplish the Restore function... but I think it requires a lot more time to dive into the subject...

      There's an option, which I think is not selected by default, that allows for saving the entire contents of the phone (a kind of full copy).
      If you have that backed up on the PC, it should be possible to manually recover the various "user data" contents.

      This involves connecting the new phone to the PC and knowing where to put what directly through the directories via "File Explorer" on the PC and the equivalent of MyPhoneExplorer.


      I sometimes use this method to simply copy various files from my PC (manual in pdf, specific sounds, ringtones, etc.) directly onto the phone, without going through an app or any other system. It works very well if you know where to place the files (directory structure on the phone).

      So it might be a lead.

        Yes, this is what I illustrated in the link in <4> and which is described more precisely here.

        Backing up contacts as well as files and applications does not exist unless it has been forced in addition to MyPhoneExplorer synchronization; it is at least for the former in a proprietary format (mdb) which will likely prevent copy-pasting onto another phone.

        Moreover, restoration by the software takes place on the PC, not on the phone.

        We return to the initial situation; the state of the old phone must still allow for the installation or use of MyPhoneExplorer.

        We agree on a "system restore" plan that can clearly be abandoned; however, Jeannet did write, "indeed, it copies contacts, calls, SMS, the calendar, and files (especially photos and videos)" & "Everything works to extract the content from the old phone to my PC."


        So he does have the old content on a PC.
        If he reconnects the new phone via M.P.E to the said PC, he can simply copy and paste media content, etc., to retrieve the content (from the PC) and manually transfer it to the phone, bringing a smile to his teenager :) in addition to looking like a "father figure" :-))

        Yes, I agree about files and applications, but are you sure about the SMS and contacts that are "encoded" in a database?

        You are right, I'm not so sure anymore, I'll have to retest that but it will be (much) later, because my desktop PC (the one I use for everything with all kinds of tools) will be unavailable starting tomorrow and for 3 months. (Major renovations at my place starting Wednesday, half of the house will be uninhabitable :-)).

        The only ones left will be the laptop and the phone :-)

    OK, thanks for enriching this info.. We'll end up less dumb..!!

    The condition of the old phone allows me to install the "Client" app via USB and mouse... and it seems to work.

    Also, I completely agree that we need to know exactly which folder to copy to on the new phone...

    But I no longer have the new phone, my teenager has taken it back and seems to be getting along just fine....

    I will pick up the subject and the exercises with another phone that I know better when I have a bit more time...

    In any case, thanks to everyone.
