Friends on Messenger more visible

I'm reposting the message Valbanse posted on 10/11/23 because I have exactly the same problem, if anyone has a solution for me it would be great!
For the past few days, on the Messenger app, I can no longer see which of my contacts are online. However, in the settings < status online, the option "show when you are online" is checked (and the option "show when you are online at the same time" is also checked)
- in the "chats" tab, no friends' faces appear on the top line (before, I was shown friends who were online)
- on each of the chats with my friends, I can no longer see if they are online/have been online recently (no more little green dot next to each profile picture)
I’ve already tried reinstalling the app several times but it doesn’t work, and when I log in with my account on another device it doesn’t work either? So I think it’s more of a Messenger account issue rather than a problem related to the device I’m using.
Does anyone know how to help me?

Well, I would say it's possible if I only had 3 contacts, but right now I don't see anyone online even though many of my contacts are. And when I tested it with my close ones, even though my "online" status is activated, I don't appear in the list of online people.

They may have disabled their "online" status so they won't be disturbed or for more privacy.
