Messenger: online friends are no longer visible.

Hello everyone

For the past few days, on the Messenger app, I can no longer see which of my contacts are online. However, in the settings < status online, the option "show when you are online" is checked (and the option "show when you are online at the same time" is also checked)

- in the "chat" tab, no friends' faces appear on the top line (before, it would suggest friends who were online)

- on each of the chats with my friends, I can no longer see if they are online/have been online recently (no more small green dot next to each profile picture)

I have already tried reinstalling the app several times but it doesn't work, and when I log in with my account on another device (on MacOS) it doesn't work either? So I think it's more of a Messenger account problem rather than a device-related issue since I'm using an iPhone 12)

Does anyone know how to help me?

    Me too on my tablet. What I don't understand is that on my mobile phone all my contacts are displayed online or not. I haven't found any solutions either.

      good evening

      i see on my tablet and my phone the people with a green dot but on the laptop sometimes i see them and sometimes i don't and it's been like this for a few days now

      Hello,

      I've been having this problem for about 2 to 3 months as well. After checking the settings several times and uninstalling and reinstalling Messenger multiple times, it's still not working. I can't see who's online and they can't see me either, even though the status is correctly activated. If anyone has an explanation and/or a solution, I would appreciate it :) Thanks in advance :)

        Hello,

        It's probably a Messenger server issue, but that would be general, unlikely, unless it only concerns a few regions!

    Hello, your online status is disabled on Facebook (via the web browser)

    The status of the Messenger app on your phone must be enabled as well as the online status on your browser;)
