I want to talk to you about a subject related to the phone.
My question is: does the green dot on the Messenger app that indicates we're online activate when we open the Facebook app?
Or does the green dot only appear when we open the Messenger app?

Technically, Facebook and Messenger accounts are common.
In fact, Messenger is included in Facebook, but they created a separate app to make it easier to use (without opening Facebook) and to be able to include in the Messenger app the reading of other messages beyond just those from Facebook.
So YES, the green dot on the Messenger app or Messenger on Facebook appears if a user simply opens Facebook or the Facebook app on their device, since being logged into the account, they can receive/send messages in Facebook via Messenger.
