Hello!

My computer shuts down as soon as I turn it on and this message appears:

Error 1962: No operating system found. Press any key to repeat boot sequence.

But when I press any key, the message just keeps multiplying infinitely... And the computer won't start again!

What should I do?

Thank you for your help

Louise

Hello,

Do you own a LENOVO computer?

These PCs often experience this error! Hoping this is the case, try following this procedure, it sometimes happens that it boots from a drive that does not have the operating system.

You need to access the BIOS setup (usually by pressing a key like F1, F2, or Del during startup) and make sure the correct boot device is selected. Check if the BOOT is set to the C:\ drive.

If after checking it fails again, it may be that your hard drive is having an issue.

Once in the BIOS, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through the different tabs and options.
If you make changes in the BIOS, be sure to save those changes before exiting the BIOS. Usually, there is an option to save and exit.

Good evening!

Thank you very much! But can you tell me more about the BIOS???

I often pressed the F11 key as soon as the computer starts with no results! If the hard drive is dead will I lose all my unsaved documents?

Thanks again for your help.

Hello,

Try visiting the LENOVO manufacturer's website with a smartphone. There is a forum, and this error is known.

It's hard to explain if you're not familiar, as the BIOS differs depending on your PC model. There's no indication that your disk is faulty. I think this is more related to this startup error.

Thank you very much! I will be able to do it in a few days...

I left my computer 'resting' for 3 days and it started again... more or less! I'm using it in small doses because I may have used it too much during a week when I was doing some quite laborious 'work'!!!

Do you think it could have simply overheated?

However, I am going to buy a new one. Could you please tell me how to recover Photoshop and ACDSee?

Thank you so much!

Louise

Hello,

Can you specify what PC you have (brand and model)?... Photoshop and ACDSee are both paid.

The first one... https://www.adobe.com/fr/products/photoshop.html

The second one... https://www.acdsee.com/fr/index/
