Hello,

for some time now, without any triggering factor, stains have appeared on certain prints, mainly on the first page after a few days without printing.

I added a part of a printout in case it helps.

I don't really know who to turn to, as repair technicians are very rare.

    Hello,

Is it toner (powder) or separate ink cartridges?

Source : User manual of the equipment.

These are indeed separate cartridges as in the second photo, do the cartridges not contain any powder?

    Hello,

So it's a color printer, it should have four drums with the basic colors... or three, if the black is made with the colors..?

-- In my opinion, it's a matter of toner powder overflow onto the sheet, then the printing process does its job..

-- We should take out the entire set of drums, check for this spilled powder..? and proceed to clean the charger, as well as inside the printer, Brush, vacuum, cloth and restart the machine.

-- There could also be remnants of paper, or jams, in the machine, on the sides... that spread the powder and do roughly the same thing...

We need to know the history...

    That's what I assume.

I have indeed had paper jams before, and I haven't noticed any pieces getting stuck from what I've seen, but I can confirm that why not.

This M5521 printer is a "Laser printer" so it doesn't have an ink cartridge, but 4 toner cartridges in four colors... And toner is powder... Each reservoir contains its powder, linked to a color...

It's this powder that must be overflowing and causing the stains.

There may be a fault in the distribution or a flap that doesn't close properly..

There may also be a recovery tray to collect used toner, as exists on large units like the Canon Image RUNNER.

There is certainly a small recovery bin... which is located behind the drum's "Lichette" cleaning section... and everyone should have their own...

And it seems to me that the stains contain different colors... It smells like the story of a lid that is closing poorly or is blocked by a foreign object and the powder spills onto the sheet or the drum... then goes into the cooking oven, to properly fix the stain on the paper...

You need good light and a mirror to look into the corners.

I also have these streaks on both sides of the page! It only happens on the first page and it occurs every time I turn on the printer.

    Hello,

It's a problem with toner that overflows and dirties the document... Or with the "Corona" wires (or erase) that allows the printing to occur, then it gets baked in the oven and becomes a permanent mark...

The remedy is therefore cleaning... Either finding the excess powder, removing and cleaning it... Or cleaning the "Corona" wires, without breaking them... dust or oxidation settles on them; it can be cleaned meticulously, using very fine sandpaper like the corundum paper used by bodyworkers...

There should not be any drum scratches, as the defect would always remain...

There you go, you need to look closely...
