Hello, I dug out an old cassette player from the brand Technics

The device works but I don't get any sound out of it. Do I need to connect it to an amplifier?

    Hello,

Yes, with an amplifier accompanied by speakers (2 or maybe 4 or more).

    Hello,

What model is this Technics player?

It’s very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it’s not there...

    Hello everyone,

"An old audio cassette player": doesn't it have a built-in speaker?
Okay, it may not be worth much in terms of quality but still....
I was thinking of the classic portable player/recorder.

Unless it's a "deck" like this one? In which case, you'll need to connect it to a regular amplifier.

NOTE: the magnetic medium has an analog signal and not a digital one! (but that's not the question...)

    Best regards!

      Hello,

Yes, more like the one proposed in your link. It can be solo (one cassette player/recorder), or in duo for copying.
