3DS showing an error message

Hello, my 3DS asked me to update (which I did) and when I turned it back on it says: "An error has occurred: Failed to apply 1 FIRM patches). Press any button to shutdown." Nothing works when I press the buttons; it just turns off immediately. Do you have any advice? I can't find anything that helps online. I haven't tried to hack it or anything. I'm worried because I just bought it.

Hello, this error message comes from Luma3DS, which indicates that the 3DS you purchased is hacked, but as it stands, something isn't working.

First of all, two things: attempting to completely uninstall the hack would be too risky (it could brick the console, making it unusable), and if the system needs to be modified to repair the hack, we won't be able to help you because that would violate the CCM charter.

To try to get the console to start without modifying the system, I suggest placing boot files on the SD card.

Go to this page and download Luma3DSv13.0.2.zip.

Inside this zip, there are two files boot.3dsx and boot.firm that you need to copy to the root of your SD card (not in a folder).
Then, insert the SD card into the console and turn it on.

If a configuration screen appears, press START, and the console should start normally.
