Hello, on my Lenovo tower, my fans are secured not with screws, but with rubber rivets. I can't remove them; I've tried pulling on them, but I'm afraid of breaking the rubber rivets. How can I remove them? Thank you.

Good evening,

You need to pull the fan and push the tip of the rubber at the same time, which will stretch it and allow it to pass through the hole. There’s no other solution, even if you have to do it gradually and avoid sudden jerks.

Perhaps you could use a little liquid soap or petroleum jelly, as you would for a ring, but these supports were forcefully inserted and, to my knowledge, there is no other method.

Hi everyone,

Are they fixed to the case?
Plan B: (in case of tearing)
If so, you can also buy rubber washers* and screws (even plastic) and fix them with (rubber washers for vibrations and noise).
The plastic screws to also prevent noise on the case of the housing.

* there are washers with 2 diameters, also called "grommets", 1 for the thickness of the case metal, 1 to isolate from the case. (avoid Aliexpress)

So, at worst if you break the rivets, it's not too serious!

Good luck!

Hey

It's sold in packets, just in case

They didn't account for the disassembly actually, at the factory it costs them barely a few cents in large quantities.

Hello,

In the end, you just have to pull, and the rivets come off on their own! And there's no problem putting them back on.

Thank you all!

Hi

Thanks for the reply. As long as it's new, it's fine. Later it breaks.
