      Hello,

      By default, tethering is disabled. You can turn it on or not. It depends on your preference. With my Xperia 5 III, I use Wi-Fi to "talk" to my PC.

      Tethering is only enabled when I am on the go with my tablet, which only works on Wi-Fi.

    Don't change your phone just yet. I have the same issue on a recent Samsung and Xiaomi. It worked fine before. I suspect Microsoft is messing with us to make us use OneDrive.

    Indeed! When I activate OneDrive on my PC, my smartphone is recognized by it and I can transfer my photos like before, without having to save them on OneDrive.

    If I disconnect from OneDrive, my phone is no longer recognized by the PC and transferring photos to the PC becomes impossible.

    Thank you for mentioning the likely bug. A bad mark for this sneaky move by Microsoft.
