Internal hard drive location

Hello, how can I check the number of available hard drive slots on my PC? I have a Dell Latitude 5510 and I want to know how many hard drives I can install.

Good evening,

Your computer supports one of the following configurations:

  • A M.2 2230/2280 slot for an SSD
  • A slot for a traditional hard drive.

Therefore, you cannot add an additional drive if both slots are already occupied.

Hello Odi_ivan,

I have never seen a designated slot on a laptop. It doesn’t exist.
You can, on the other hand, install a new, larger capacity drive in place of the current one, but you’ll need to reinstall everything.

There are also procedures to recover everything, but I don't know them well enough!
