Hello,

I am contacting you regarding my television, which suddenly emitted a smell of smoke but still turns on and the sound is working fine; apart from the smell, everything is okay. I would like to know if this is serious or not. Thank you, have a good evening.

    Good evening,

With a burnt smell, it needs to be turned off and definitely not turned back on!

If the television is still under warranty, in that case it should be returned for service.

If not, it should be checked by a repair technician (consider getting a quote first…) or look into purchasing a new television.

In this context, there could be a fire hazard.

      Okay, thank you.

Do you know where this might come from?

Thanks in advance, have a good evening.

The television has not been under warranty for 9 years, thank you very much for your response, I wish you an excellent evening.

    Hello everyone,

A component that has burned out. But which one?
Only a serious repairer will be able to say.
If they tell you that a board needs to be changed, ask them to return it to you after the replacement, just so you know that you want to get it back and take a closer look at it...

Good luck but do not turn the device back on, otherwise it could cause a house fire.
