Hello,

I have a bbox4 and a Proximus wifi bridge and everything works.

I'm trying to add 2 Linksys mesh stations but Proximus technical support tells me that I need to replace the wifi bridge with the wifi booster.

I don't trust support too much because technicians contradict each other or don't know what mesh means.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Thank you for the response.

Hello,

you're in Belgium apparently and I don't know the Proximus equipment, I'm more used to French boxes, but generally, when you set up a mesh wifi system, you turn off the other wifi on site so that the mesh wifi has all the space to itself.

wifi bridge, what's a wifi bridge, for personal use next to the box?

what product are the access points of the bridge?

is this the bridge, to connect the TV box?

actually it's a client access point.

wifi booster, is this it? , repeaters actually, that's a lot of wifi systems.

So,

I think it's possible to connect the wifi bridge to the linksys mesh network as long as the mesh system is configured in access point mode and not in router mode.

And voilà, voilà, voilà ....

But damn, those line breaks are annoying!!

Hello,

What is the problem?

The Linksys mesh is not working? What devices did you buy? For what purpose did you buy them? To extend or to replace the box's wifi?

What did you ask the Proximus technical support?

Will one of the Linksys devices be installed near the TV?

uh,

it's not me who has the problem, well a little, but very indirectly through CCM :-)

Hello brupala,

Thank you for your reply.

The wifi bridge is located between the modem and the Proximus decoder.

It allows me to receive Proximus TV on my TV.

It communicates with the modem via WPS and according to the support, it would prevent the Linksys station from accessing the internet because the mesh wifi is well created when I connect the station to the modem.

If it works, I won’t need the wifi from the Proximus modem anymore.

The wifi booster does the same thing as the wifi bridge but it also acts as a repeater.

According to the reviews, this booster is unstable hence the idea of installing a mesh.

I’m not at all experienced in these technologies but I hope all of this works.

If your Linksys station is connected by cable to the box, I don't think the wifi bridge can be an obstacle.

How did you configure the Linksys station? Which model are you using?

When using the Linksys mesh, you can do without the box's wifi, either by connecting the decoder directly with a cable to a Linksys station, or by connecting your wifi bridge to the Linksys wifi via WPS. Even simpler would be to use the same name and password for the mesh as the box's wifi network (after turning off the latter beforehand).

Hello yg_be,

I bought 2 Linksys AX3000 stations because I have quite a few connected devices and despite a tplink repeater, there are frequent disconnections.

I just replaced the bbox3 with a bbox4 and there is a wifi bridge. The new setup is working fine.

I connected one Linksys station to the bbox.

The wifi network is created but there is no internet connection. So I called support to explain the situation and ask for their help.

There won’t be a Linksys near the TV because I have Proximus TV and I understood that the bridge was necessary.

Thank you for your response.

ax3000, this is not a model. Are they Atlas 6?

It's rather the Linksys support that should help you.

The bridge is necessary when the TV cannot be wired; it only serves to bring the wifi to the TV. You will then have to keep the box's wifi active, only for the TV, which is a pity.

I connected a Linksys station to the Bbox.

How did you connect it, via Ethernet?

Oh sorry, you've already answered <6>.

If the Linksys doesn't connect, there's a problem with it; what does the app say?

AX3000 is not the model; it corresponds to several products. You should have a label on the back that indicates the model and other specific information (serial number, MAC address, default WPA key, maybe IP address).

You should have contacted Linksys support if you couldn't figure it out with the documentation.

Hello again yg_be,

yes a linksys station is connected by cable to the box.

for the configuration of the station I followed the procedure in the app and since I'm more than a novice, I can't answer your question about the configuration and the model.

could you give me more info?

Which port of the box is the linksys station connected to?

Just in case, try LAN port 2.

These are Atlas 6 model MX2000 poles.

ax3000 appears on the packaging under the heading 'AX3000 speed', sorry for the mistake.
