M.2 SSD Installation on Aorus Elite 450 Motherboard

Hello,
I bought an M.2 SSD that I want to install on my Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite motherboard.
I was thinking of installing it in the slot next to the graphics card because it has a heatsink and is probably the fastest one.
The problem is that my SSD is 80mm long, while the original heatsink of the motherboard is 110mm.
When I install the SSD and secure it to the 80mm support I added, if I later want to add the heatsink, it doesn't sit flush against the SSD because the screw holding the SSD is taller than the SSD itself. The heatsink needs to be screwed onto the support at the 110mm position, but it is slightly elevated by the screw holding the SSD in the 80mm position.
How can I fit the heatsink properly? Should I buy a flatter screw? Could I manage without the heatsink in the meantime?
