Connecting a tower CD drive to a laptop

Hello,

I want to retrieve my old CD/DVD drive from 2009 (tower) to connect it to my laptop with a SATA/USB cable that I just bought; the result is that it blinks, I can see it in my explorer but I can't see the content.

What is your opinion on this matter, please?

I don't really know much about it.

Samsung SH-223; I downloaded the driver.

Hello,

A suggestion, this could be due to insufficient power supply via USB. For example, you need a USB adapter with an external power supply if you want to connect a 3.5-inch drive via USB.
