Hello,

Following a PC failure, I need to merge two .cm files.

The first one dates from September 2015 to December 2022.

The second one is from January 2023 to today.

How can I merge them into one?

It’s impossible with the Budget Plus software.

Thank you if you know the procedure.

    Hello,

I have this in a corner of my PC, I've never used it (I use another application).

I suppose you need to Application-Exporter-File CMI from the most recent period and then import it into the oldest one.

    Hello,

thank you for your response, but the files are saved in (.CM).

So when I run the import function, it tells me it doesn't recognize this file format!

I even tried changing CM to CMI, and I got the same response.

This seems quite complicated to me.

Do you have any other ideas?

      Hello,

      As I told you, I don't practice.

The .CM files seem to correspond to the ledger itself or a backup copy (Application-Backup) where the transactions are exported-imported in CMI (or OFX) format.

The default installation of the software creates a ledger called CYBERCIC.CM in the working folder.

Apparently, a CM ledger or backup cannot be imported but can be opened by selecting Application-Open.

Under these circumstances, if we want to merge the two backups, I probably need to successively open each of them and export it to a CMI file, then, by selecting Application-New, create a new ledger that I will name Tartempion, which will be in CM format, and into which I will successively import the 2 previous CMIs.

    Hello again,

Upon rereading your response, I just understood your line "export file".

So it created the file in CMI, I then imported it into the second one and there, miracle, it worked.

Aside from a few removed duplicates, everything is back in order.

Well done and thank you again.
