Hello everyone,

I want to connect my turntable, which has a preamp, to a pair of Yamaha HS8 speakers.

The HS8s are active speakers that allow me not to use an amplifier. My problem is that the HS8s have an XLR input and my turntable has RCA outputs. The question is, can I connect my turntable to the HS8s using an RCA to XLR cable like this one, for example? https://www.thomann.de/fr/pro_snake_rrm_1010.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjwseSoBhBXEiwA9iZtxhLWMrjaG1YPiXq1yrxQjiyHHpvJhUt3q4IykWVcS0OmYNXq8xWq8hoC2v0QAvD_BwE

All while maintaining optimal sound quality.

Thank you in advance for your valuable help!

    Hello,

The input level of the speakers is adjustable, which allows for balancing between the turntable and the speakers.

The input impedance of these XLR connectors is specified at 10 kohms, which should match that of the output on the turntable.

The cable, if well-insulated (protective sheath), does not play an active role in quality.

    A test poses no risk.

    Hello

The speakers, in addition to XLR inputs, also have Jack inputs that can be used as well.

However, are the RCA output jacks on the turntable female or male???
