How to know if my XMP is enabled

Hello,

I would like to know if my XMP is enabled, but I don't know how to check.

My PC is a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3. Here are the specifications of the PC:

https://www.coolblue.be/fr/produit/880014/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3-15imh05-81y4019cmb-azerty.html#product-specifications

In the task manager, under the Memory tab, it shows a speed of 2933 MHz. Does that mean it's enabled?

Another question: I want to enable XMP to increase my performance (FPS) in a game. Is it harmful to the computer or not?

Thank you

    hi Snake38

with 2933 MHz, your RAM is already overclocked

and it's not harmful to the PC

It may be that 2933 MHz is the maximum supported by the memory controller integrated into the CPU. No possibility of overclocking, so no implementation of XMP profile.

The memory controller frequency of Comet Lake peaks at 2933 MHz. This value can be exceeded if the motherboard is equipped with a chipset that allows overclocking (Z series). I don’t believe this is the case in a consumer laptop.

    Thank you for your answers.

I understand that the CPU-Z program allows you to see if XMP is enabled.

Here is what the program shows me as information:

It looks like my PC does not display "XMP" as one would normally see in the SPD tab. Therefore, I feel that I might not be XMP compatible, what do you think?

      Hello

CPU-Z has never said whether you have XMP or not ( it never indicated anything )

I don't understand your insistence on this function, given that the RAM frequency is indicated at 2933 MHz; and that you can't do anything on that side.

      .

Moreover, it's the first time I've seen such results for CPU-Z

      - JEDEC #6; JEDEC #7; JEDEC #8; JEDEC #9, all at 1600 MHz in the SPD tab ???

      - an Uncore Frequency of 4289.5 MHz in the Memory tab ? => it would have two 8 GB sticks

      - and a Size of 16 Gbytes in the Memory tab ???

      .

      my SPD and Memory

I agree, the table in this case is complete nonsense... but that's what's written in the SPD chip of his RAM, it's not CPU-Z making it up.

By the way, did you see the brand of his RAM? RAMAXEL..... that's all I'm saying.

Even if the memory chips are from a good brand (Micron), it's really not great.

        purely made in China, right?

Why the "pure made in China"? I remind you that many of the products we use are made in China. The power supplies for our PCs, Apple smartphones, etc., are made in China. Of course, if you buy a product from an unknown brand, you have a high risk of falling for a scam.

    Hi

The table in the "SPD" tab does not show an xmp profile, so yes, you don’t have xmp, anyway your cpu wouldn’t have managed the ram beyond 2933mhz.

As for dual channel, it is indeed active, you can see it with cpuz, in the "memory" tab, at the top right, the line channel says dual.
