Registry appears on the screen.

Hello,

Among the icons in the screenshot below, which ones are present in the top line of your handset's screen?

Among other things, what is the reception icon like? Is it steady or absent?

Have you tried unplugging the base from the power source and removing the batteries from the handset, then putting everything back together (making sure the battery polarities are correct)?

It is very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
