Uninstall anydesk

Hello,

following a scam involving a fake technical support (supposedly Microsoft), I want to uninstall the anydesk Software through the control panel (Windows 11).

During the process, the following message appears: "WARNING. Removing the settings also deletes your nickname. This action will be permanent."

I don't understand what this means.

Can someone explain it to me?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards.

    Hello,

    AnyDesk is an application for remotely controlling a PC. If you want to uninstall it properly, install Revo Uninstaller Free.

      Hello,

      Normally, there's not even a need: the uninstallation asks if we should keep the data (in this case, the identification username used for Anydesk connection), you answer no and that's it.

    Good evening,

    Thank you to Panth33ra and Brucine1262 for your responsiveness.

    If I understand correctly, the username in question is strictly specific to Anydesk. The deletion of the settings pertains to this application, and this action does not affect the system or any of the other installed software or applications or personal data (photos, documents,...).

    Therefore, I will choose the uninstall command at the bottom of the window that appears after selecting in the Anydesk control panel and clicking on "uninstall/change";

    best regards

      Yes, in remote control software and depending on the software, you have to "identify yourself" with a specific number or name, which allows the target person of the remote access to know who is requesting permission to allow or deny it.
