Projector: no sound when using a DVD

Hello everyone

After several searches online, I turn to you for help in finding a solution. I recently got an Apemans projector, the LC650. With it, I can easily listen to music and watch movies via my Chromecast.

However, I am unable to get any sound when watching a DVD through a DVD player. I tried using the HDMI cable and went through the AV ports, but no sound comes out. The image is fine.

On the sales site, it is indicated that the device does not support "Dolby audio" sound. Do you have any solutions to work around this issue?

Can I modify the sound on the DVD player? On DVDs? Or connect a speaker directly to the player?

I'm a bit out of options.

Thank you in advance for your help

Hello, Dolby audio is not essential, you should look elsewhere. You can use HDMI to the projector while cutting the projector's audio and taking the audio from the DVD player via RCA, for example, and use an amplifier and speakers. Note that these budget projectors do what they can, to get a branded projector you need to budget €500.
