Duplicate emails received in Thunderbird

Hello,

I added an additional SFR email address but found it unnecessary and deleted it quite quickly. For a while on the webmail, I received double emails for the address name.pré***@***, but that has disappeared, and the email works normally on the SFR app for my tablet after a few duplicates.

It’s on Thunderbird that I continue to receive duplicates for my second address ***@***. I reinstalled the accounts through the account settings: the two SFR and one Gmail, not one more. I still keep receiving duplicates.

How can I tidy up in Thunderbird?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely.

Hello,

in addition to my question, after checking, I noticed that when I log into Webmail using my second address or my first one, I find the same emails. The duplicates likely come from this anomaly. At this point, I don't know how to resolve this issue.

Hello,

Are the 2 SFR addresses real independent addresses or is the second one an alias of the first?

Hello, I’m sorry because I answered your question but I can’t find the thread of the discussion. The two SFR addresses are independent, but I noticed on Thunderbird that some messages arrived in the same account. On the SFR Mail app installed on my tablet, I am no longer receiving emails for the address that is not the primary one (primary address ***@***, secondary ***@***). I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but I cannot reset the configuration and I’m at the same point. I did contact 1023 but so far nothing has been resolved. Best regards

If the addresses are independent, should we understand a duplicate as receiving the same message on both Webmail and Thunderbird? Webmail applications on smartphones leave the emails on the server; on the PC, I don’t know, I don’t use it often, check the SFR Webmail settings to see if there’s an option to delete the message from the server after reading it. Generally speaking, a Webmail is on IMAP (it "synchronizes" the emails while leaving them on the server). On Thunderbird, there’s a choice (I don’t use it anymore either, I’m not sure if there’s an option to delete the emails from the server after receiving them); Thunderbird can be configured in IMAP or POP, the latter's behavior is to download the email and delete it from the server, but to switch from IMAP to POP, you need to back up your profile and reinstall. In this case, if we check the Webmail first, we will always have a duplicate; this won’t be the case if we do it with Thunderbird. If the addresses are perfectly independent (not aliases) and messages from one arrive at the other, the problem lies with SFR; otherwise, it’s normal (except possibly to set up a reception folder filter in Thunderbird according to the destination email address).

Good evening and thank you for your explanations. When I discussed the problem with the SFR advisor, he also told me that messages appear on Webmail, on Thunderbird, and on the SFR app on tablet, but when I mention duplicates, I mean up to 5 to 7 messages that show up on each of the platforms. When trying to send from a Gmx and Gmail address to my SFR accounts, on the SFR app I receive nothing for my address a@sfr but I do for a.o@sfr. And when I open Webmail to read my emails addressed to a@sfr, I receive those meant for a.o@sfr. It seems to me that to resolve this issue, I would need to reset everything. This task seems very difficult to me. Best regards
