How to change the SMS ringtone on Samsung Galaxy S23

Hello,

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S23 and I don't know where to change the SMS ringtone.

Previously, I had a Galaxy S8. I would go into the received messages and click on the 3 dots in the top right, but on the Galaxy S23, there are no longer 3 dots.

Can someone please help me out?

    Hello,
Instead of the 3 dots, you should see your Google profile logo.

In the message home, click on your profile logo at the top right.
Then Settings > Messages > Notifications > at the bottom Categories Notification > Incoming Message > Sound

Thank you very much, I couldn't find where my sound issue was and I found it thanks to your explanations, I would have never figured it out on my own. Thank you.

    Hello,

Not sure if it's due to the model and not to the new Android versions.

Unless you use a proprietary Samsung messaging app, which may have specific settings, on my new phone (Android 13 but not Samsung), there is no longer any way to customize the notification sound of this app or any other.

Here we find a communication stating the opposite for the S23, but it doesn't work for me.

      Hello,

      Thank you for your reply.

      But on my Galaxy S23
In Notifications - Notification categories, I do not have the line Message notifications as described in Herve_be's message.

That's exactly what I was telling you, me neither.

But since you made the same intervention on the message in question, I'll let you continue with it; we can't chase two hares at once.

    Hello,

I found in the notifications category that you need to click on the incoming messages line and then choose your music.

    Thank you for your messages.

      Yes,

I don't use it, but I also found it in that location (it depends on Android, not the phone), well hidden, I hadn't scrolled down far enough.
