Unable to record android tv toshiba
PAQUITA86 Posted messages 13 Status Member -
Hello,
I formatted my Toshiba Android TV USB key, but I get an error message when the scheduled recording starts. It says: "the disk is not ready." I previously checked USB debugging in the settings. The key is recognized because I can transfer applications from the TV's internal memory to my USB key. Should I check something else? And/or why is it not working? Thank you for helping me quickly as I only have a few days left to take the TV back to the store, but I don't think the TV itself has a problem. I would like this to work because I have already configured a lot of things on it.

Hello,
Without the exact model of this Toshiba television, it is impossible to give you an answer...
The solution to the problem certainly lies in one of the paragraphs of the manual. Among other things, check if a PVR setting needs to be validated on your USB key.

Hello again Baladur 13.
First of all, thank you for your quick response. I've looked in the manual but couldn't find a clear enough explanation. So I have a Toshiba Android model: 55UA3D63DG. In the USB configuration, I have several options: charging, MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol), RNDIS (Ethernet USB), Audio source, and MIDI.
I also didn't see anything on my USB stick which is formatted by the TV, an option to check for PVR. (It now opens with a file manager).
The TV's debugging is enabled. I hope you can help me quickly. Thank you in advance.

I can't find the PVR settings; I only see PVR at the bottom of the screen when I'm on the channel page, because we go through here to schedule the recording, but I can't click on it. Thank you for not letting me down.

I’m willing to keep this going, but I’m not sure what else to add.
When you schedule the recording, are you not asked anything about the USB device to use?
The manual recommends using an external USB hard drive rather than a flash drive as the recording medium. Could this be the cause of the issue?
Let’s see if my colleague @Andy31200 StatusModerator can come up with more ideas than I have regarding your problem.
Actually, I have another problem. I wanted to change the storage device, I started formatting an external hard drive (leaving the USB configuration on charge in the settings), it seemed to be taking a long time, so I stopped the process and now, when I plug it in, the TV tells me: the storage memory has been ejected safely, whereas I just plugged it in. When I unplug it, I can no longer see the hard drive. This new problem is more serious for me than the recording. I made a mistake, how can I fix it so that the TV doesn’t confuse the connection and disconnection of the hard drive? I'm desperate!!!
Hello,
Some PVRs don't "digest" USB drives, prefer an external hard drive.
I call a spade a spade *
*in French in the textFor my part, it will be too late; I wanted to resolve the issue before the TV's return deadline in order to keep it. I don't know what to do. Thank you for all this exchange.
Sincerely,
Paquita
The manual recommends turning off the television before connecting the USB device. (manual page 28)
To record a program, you must first
connect your USB drive to your television
which you should have previously turned off.
You can turn on the TV to activate the
recording function.

Especially when it isn't there...It doesn't work. The TV says: the disk is not ready. I don't know what needs to be set up.
